Northside's Vincent wants to play

Northside forward James Vincent, who landed awkwardly on his left knee on Tuesday night against Harris County, expects to play tonight against Columbus High.

Vincent was going up for a dunk early in the second quarter when he was fouled hard by Harris County defender and fell to the court.

Vincent said he’s hurt that knee earlier in the season, and he said it’s just a sprain. He also said the swelling has started to down. Northside coach Kenny Lawrence said the Patriots might sit against Blue Devils and play Saturday night against top-ranked Jordan.

“I will be fine,” Vincent said. “It’s important to me and to the school that I play.”
