Kedrick safety commits

Kendrick safety Jermaine Richardson has verbally committed to Memphis.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound safety selected the Conference USA school over Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Indiana and UCLA.

“The coaching staff at Memphis really impressed him,” Kendrick coach Ahmand Tinker said. “He likes what they do defensively and the atmosphere of the city.”

Richardson, who visited Memphis on Dec. 8, suffered a handful of nagging injuries throughout his senior season. Despite those injuries, he finished with 89 tackles and four interceptions.
